Hello lovely lovely lovelies,

This is for any of you that are wondering what the F*** is going on with me.
You may know that earlier this summer I started recording my first album in Vancouver, Canada. I asked for your support and the results were absolutely mind blowing. THANK YOU THANK YOU!! We raised enough to get the project started with the recording process. I got to hire the right equipment, the right engineer (Braeden Rangno) and some fantastic musicians. I chose to self produce this project and although it took me a few days to find my feet, I quickly adjusted and I am very happy with the results so far.

So what's happening now?

I took a month off of thinking about the album so I could come back to it with a fresh approach, so that when I played what I had to my family and friends I could be detached enough to take their opinions on board and move forward in the most effective way. The album isn’t quite done. We are not far away from finishing the recording aspect but I think a few bits and pieces need to be added and taken away and a few songs need to be re-sung.

I am currently in Los Angeles looking to build a new North American team to help support me finish this album and to strategize the best way to release it. I have been lucky enough to have made a living from music over the last few years and I want that to be able to continue that so I am looking at all options at the moment. I am of course focused on getting myself as an artist out there as much and as loud as possible but obviously I am not limited to that. I am looking at writing opportunities and I am also considering dabbling in some production for a few projects. I would like to have my own studio one day. I would like to have my own restaurant and have a bunch of other business’s for which I have ideas. I think I have unique angles on how I can bring them all together and I am excited about that prospect. Of course some things are far down the line and I have to continue to be determined and patient.

I have struggled with patience in the past but I am doing my best as I build my North American team. Its not a process that can be rushed and I need to make sure that I find the right people that are behind me as much as many of you guys are! It will happen. I am meeting plenty of people in and around the industry and discussing all possibilities. So at this time I’d like to ask the same from you! It’s going to take some time to get the album right. It’s going to take some time to find more funding for mixing and mastering and to find the best people to execute it, but I do promise you something I will be proud of!

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for still supporting me!

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Just wanted to give you guys an update!

So far so good! We are right on schedule-ish!

The majority of the sessions have happened through the evening until the performances fade from our fingers and then I review during the day. The drums are completed and the bass is pretty much done. We managed to get that all recorded here but unfortunately there are grounding issues in this house which to my basic understanding means that anything electrical and with a speaker makes a loud BUZZZZ which means it isn’t recordable. Thanks to technology though we have a fairly portable set up so we are taking the studio downtown for electric guitars and the re-amping of the bass! We will be heading to a small local studio called Sugar Tits. I personally can’t wait to see the place. I think it will breathe a new energy into me and my performances on the electric guitar of course. After that is completed it will be back in the house to tackle acoustics, strings, pianos, vocals and other miscellaneous goodness. I will stream more… I promise. When there is action to share I will turn on that webcam. Nobody wants to watch us fiddle with wires and sounds.

There have been plenty of challenges so far but I have a fantastic teammate in Braeden (my engineer) and we are getting this record made even though some of the methods are a little unconventional at times! I can’t wait for the tracks to start taking their true shape!

I also want to just say another huge thank you to those that made contributions to the making of this album. You are a part of this experience everyday.

I am happy and trying

Sam Bradley - Just Ask

Hello lovelies,

Quite a bit to talk about

The album process is underway. I have accumulated a small team that will help me to craft the album that I want to make. I had a rehearsal with the drummer and bass players that I have chosen on Saturday and it went fantastically! The stronger songs are rising to the top (complete lie… I still cant decide) and my notes and visions are starting to materialize.

I have been doing a lot of thinking recently about the best way to move forward with this project. As you may have seen I have chosen to produce it myself. It’s going to be a great challenge, as I have never attempted this before… I have however spent quite enough time in and around studios to be ready to take it on or if all else fails… completely fake it! There will be a lot of button pressing, finger pointing and knob twisting that my trusty engineer will have to adjust but I have complete confidence that we are prepared!

I have been thinking a great deal about how to raise some extra funds for musicians, miscellaneous equipment and other costs along the way. Thanks to campaigns started on various social media outlets most of us are now aware of some of the expenses of the album making process. I know that the most obvious thing for me to do is to launch a Kickstarter or pledge music campaign. While they have proved an extremely useful tool for a lot of bands and musicians, I don’t feel that it is quite the right fit for me and the wonderful people that support me. I have sat and thought at great length about an honest and integral way to get my own campaign going. I have battled with the idea of asking for help from you for a long time now and have always looked at other alternatives to make sure that the music can be made, but life has brought me to this point and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was overlooking the Vancouver skyline the other evening (see instagram) pondering and stressing about my “option” when it hit me.

Just ask.

I couldn’t get it out of my head. It kept repeating and ringing in my ears. The simplicity of it made me smile. The transparency of it is unspoiled… Just ask.

So here I go… Can you please help me make this album?

If you are able and your answer is yes… THANK YOU. I will not let us down in the making of this album and I will figure out how to pay it forward.

To contribute all you have to do is gift towards my paypal, which is

mailing@sambradley.com

Anything that you can contribute will make a MASSIVE difference.

If this idea isn’t for you… THANK YOU too. Thank you for your continued support. Thank you for even making it this far down the page and most of all thank you for listening.

Tomorrow is my last release “Not Your Kind” 1 year anniversary. To celebrate I will be putting up a dance performance video starring my younger sister Millie that we made last year. I am very excited to finally be able to share it with you.

Love always

Sam Bradley - England to Canada and the Making of an Album

I woke up in New York on New Years day with most of my closest friends around me. As an overly reflective individual I find that time of year quite life changing (if only in thought). I had loved moving back to England. I got to tour there and meet great musicians and get together an absolute kick ass band! I traveled to Scotland and Wales and I got to know the country in which I was born, a dream of mine that I will continue to fulfill. I have a great team behind me there. My Management and booking agent are absolutely wonderful. I recorded my EP “Not Your Kind” and sold it up and down the UK. I rented cars and slept in parking lots by the ocean. I drove through The Lake District and visited castles. I played venues that I had dreamt about playing. I sang my (little) ass off at every chance I got and began to build a following there which continues to grow.

London is truly one of the greatest cities in the world but you likely already knew that.

On a personal level, I was only ever a tube ride away from pals and I lived with my magnificent sister. My closest pub was a 20 second walk and the area that I lived in was scattered with family members. I was there for some very important moments that will never ever be replicated. I felt extremely privileged every morning that I woke and every evening before I would rest.

I couldn’t quite afford to live in London doing what I was doing as I am not prepared to NOT be a musician yet! I also missed North America. I missed touring there. I missed the sound that it brought out of me and I love receiving rewards for my efforts. I knew that I had to get back there if I was going to be able to continue to be a musician. I needed to expand again but first I needed new music.

So here is my plan…

I have moved into my mothers place in Vancouver, Canada for the time being. Twenty-seven and living in Mums basement (1 step back and 2 forward). She is about to head out on tour in a few weeks (You should go see a show!!! https://www.facebook.com/LeeLindseyMusic )
While she is away I will be turning the house into a studio. I have been here for a few months now and have been writing new songs (not all of them quite finished) and will attempt to make my DEBUT ALBUM! I have tried to make albums in the past but due to complications have reduced them to EP’s so I am changing my outlook and this project will have a more DIY approach. I am very excited to see and hear what happens.
I am going to try and come up with a few unique ways over the course of the next couple of months to try and raise a bit of money to get this project completed. My first idea is to eBay off my writing guitar so please keep an eye on twitter for when that happens!

You have all helped make this career possible for me and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am improvising at the moment; I don’t really know what is going to happen exactly but I know that it will be achievable with your continued unwavering support.

I will be regularly updating on twitter, instagram, Facebook and vine making sure that you are on this journey with me 140 characters at a time!

I can’t wait to record and to tour it around the world.

Thank you

Sam Bradley - Song Lyrics

Science Prevents Me - Sam Bradley

I want to jump off that mountain
Float down to the sea
To run on the clouds
And spit from the skies
But your science prevents me

I want to look inside your conscience
And guard who you could be
Protect you from sin
Unlikely I’ll win
Your science prevents me

I wear his cross
Drink her wine
Take with you all your reasons
Leave me with mine

You wonder lost
Yet measure time
I doubt your allegiance
You only judge mine

I want to float down that river
Stand proud like the trees
Give light like the sun
As dark as the night
But your science prevents me

And so she came
No warning
And Lord I’m young
But so is she

I wear his cross
Drink her wine
Take with you all your reasons
Leave me with mine

You wonder lost
Yet measure time
I doubt your allegiance
You only judge mine

Only Human - Sam Bradley

I don’t mind babe
If you’re helpless
Or you’re wealthless
Only human
If your love is only something
That you pour

Throw myself into
The deep end
Because you’re weeping
Only human
If my word is really something
You want more

Pick yourself up off the floor
Put that drink down on the bar
We won’t be here for long
We won’t be here for long
I know a better place

For every reason
That you’re given
Just excuses
Only human
You’re not fooling anyone comes
Through that door

Take a minute
If you need it
And start breathing
Only human
Let us see the hopeful smile that
You once wore

Pick yourself up off the floor
Put that drink down on the bar
We won’t be here for long
We won’t be here for long
I know a better place

I don’t mind babe
If you’re helpless
Or you’re wealthless
Only human
Let us see that hopeful smile that
You once wore

Sam Bradley - Twitter Verification and Twitter Interview

To celebrate my verification on twitter (something that matters but doesn't really matter) I wanted to do a twitter Q&A!

It is where you write me a question and I reply to you!

The Q&A will take place on

Saturday June 1st @ 6:00pm GMT

The interview will last for about 30mins (probably will last longer... I'm not the fastest typer). All you have to do is ask a question and put @samueltwitt1 in your tweet. I will then do my best to reply to all of you!

A Few Rules and other things!

1. Questions must be of a positive nature! (I'll just ignore them if they are not)
2. Questions must be aimed towards me and my life! (If not they will also be ignored)
3. No limit to how many questions you can ask
4. Please keep the questions in English. My language skills are basic at best!
5. My favourite 5 questions will be put up in the news section on my website.
6. So I dont clog up everyones feed I will reply only. No RT's or Quoting.

Cant wait and I hope to see a few of you there!

Sam Bradley - EP Release & Manchester!!

Hellooooooooo,

Well the sold out show in London was a huge success! I loved playing with the band. They are great guys and with only 2 days rehearsal I think they did an outstanding job! It was great to have my sister singing with me again too! The atmosphere was electric! I had quite a few beers and thoroughly enjoyed myself...

Next morning I woke with a little hangover but walked it off and soaked it up with a breakfast sandwich. At 2:15pm I received a phone call from my manager with news of an opportunity to support Lana Del Rey in Manchester. Obviously I said YES!! I jumped into the shower and scrubbed as fast as I could and packed my bag. I arrived 15 minutes before I had to be on stage and after a quick line check I was on stage singing to 3000 + people. The reaction was a good one and the compliments have been lovely on twitter. Thank you for that!

Tonight I play Manchester again for the Dot To Dot festival and then off to Bristol and on to Nottingham.

Exciting times

Dear All,

I do not have a good enough vocabulary to find different ways to say thank you for buying my EP and shouting about it. The support you have shown me is completely overwhelming. It fills my heart with pride knowing that it is being heard all over the world.

I am playing my release show in London tonight to a sold out audience. It sold out almost a month before the show! Without you guys this would not have happened. I am achieving my goals because of the belief that you have shown me.

Tonight's show is a landmark for me in my career and I am so grateful that you are all a part of it in some way.
